This old corrugated iron Country Roads Board (CRB) hut was one of a series of huts built by the CRB from the 1920's to provide shelter for travellers and CRB workers along the Alpine Road. The erection of these huts was made on the recommendation of Bill Spargo, the CRB superintendent at the time, and a pioneer of the region. CRB hut, was built around 1923-25 and is one of the best preserved CRB huts left in Victoria. The original dirt floor is now covered with timber.
