Instead of the warm bright light of sunrise illuminating the beach before me, I was presented with unexpected cloud cover on the horizon. Either way, it was a calm and relaxing way to start the day, with the beach covered in a soft light instead. South Durras beach is a little paradise, nicely positioned nearby to rich forests, ocean beaches and a sparkling lake. With the nearby town surrounded by Murrumarang National Park, native animals such as wallabies, goannas, parrots and cockatoos are never far away.
