"Finding a secluded spot on Sydney Harbour, given the seemingly endless water borne activity is often a challenge. On this calm morning, I found seclusion in Shell Cove, and enjoyed an incredibly peaceful start to the day. As the sun began to rise, fog rolled down the harbour, creating a great mystery and backdrop to the scene before me. With little but the sound of laughing kookaburras to interrupt, it was a terrific way to begin the day in Sydney."- Scott
Prior to the arrival of Europeans, the area around Shell Cove was known as Wulworra-Jeung by the Cammeraygal, the Aboriginal people who inhabited the land on the lower northern shores of Port Jackson. This group, was one of the largest in the Sydney area. The natural sandstone cliffs and rocky overhangs of this secluded location were a perfect place for shelter, fishing and ceremonial activities.
